The 2 Minute Face

The 2 Minute Face

The 2 Minute Face

Here is my quick solution for looking awake and refreshed when you don’t have the energy for more than 2 minutes of makeup.

Before…yikes!

Before Makeup

Before

After…better! Everything is more even and fresh. I’m awake.

After Makeup

After

I use this quick routine most days. It is simple and really can be done in a flash. I’ll put makeup on even if I’m just lounging around the house because it makes me feel better.

I start with a clean face that is moisturized. If I’m planning to be outside, I’ll add a touch of sunblock.

The products I currently use are from ZuZu Luxe. I get them at my health food store. They are all natural. Remember that your skin is like a sponge and soaks into your system whatever you put on it.

Check out how I apply the 2 minute face:

Here’s the 2-minute face breakdown:

  • Eyeliner: very close to the top lash line only. I use black to match the color of my lashes. Once applied it doesn’t look like you have liner on, it creates the illusion of full lashes. I never put liner on my lower lash line because it makes me look tired.
  • Concealer: under the eyes and anywhere you have blemishes. I put some at the corners of my nose to cover broken blood vessels and at the bottom corners of my mouth where I have some blotchy discoloration from medication. I put concealer on after any eye makeup (except mascara) so that if something falls below my eyes, I can cover it up. I have a love affair with concealer. It’s a must have!
  • Powder Foundation: quick sweep all over with a big fluffy brush to blend in the concealer and to even out your complexion.
  • Bronzer: brush across the cheeks and up toward your temples. I use this instead of blush for a sun-kissed natural glow.
  • Mascara: combined with the liner this helps your eyes really stand out. Same as my eyeliner, I use black which is my natural coloring. This step comes last because you don’t want to get powder in your mascara.
  • Lip gloss: finishing touch.

And…you’re done. That’s it, 6 steps to a fresh, natural awake look. Coping with illness doesn’t always have to look that way. Makeup actually gives me more energy and confidence. This is also such a small amount of makeup that, to me, it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything. I just feel more like my healthy self.
