The Sacramento Kings are partnering with the Donate Life California Campaign to celebrate the miracle of organ donation on Wednesday, February 19th at the Kings vs. Warriors Game. Phillip and I joined Lisa Gonzales at KCRA this morning to chat about how things have been going since our transplant on October 7th. You can watch the video here:
Kings Event to Bring Awareness to Organ Donation
The game on the 19th will be my first game this season and I am really looking forward to getting out and celebrating with everyone. Phillip will be playing in a pre-game scrimmage of donors and recipients vs. transplant doctors and surgeons. I’ll be on the sidelines cheering with some of my recipient friends – complete with pom-poms!
I know that registering to be an organ donor is not a decision to take lightly. It is one that should be discussed with friends, family and your spiritual community. I can say from the other side of my transplant that each day is filled with gratitude for being given the opportunity to be healthy.
